Apex Foundation Trick or Trot 5K & Kids' Halloween Hunt

Apex Foundation Trick or Trot 5K & Kids' Halloween Hunt is held in Arvada, Colorado, on October 24, 2026. The 5K, 3.1 miles, starts at 9:00 a.m. and a kids' 1-mile follows at 10:00 a.m., with a separate candy hunt where children aged twelve and under collect treats at designated stations. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome, costumes are encouraged, and there are prizes to be won.

Two starts an hour apart is a practical setup for a family: adults race first, children run their mile afterward, and nobody has to wait around all morning. For the 5K itself, a month of running three times a week is enough preparation for most people. Entries in the 5K include giveaways and a swag bag, and proceeds support the Apex Foundation's work with the Apex Park and Recreation District.
