Athens Ohio Marathon

Athens Ohio Marathon takes place in Athens, Ohio, on April 11, 2027, with the marathon (26.2 miles) and the half marathon (13.1 miles) both starting at 8 a.m. These are the oldest marathon and half marathon in Ohio, and both set off from the historic Uptown Athens district near Ohio University's College Green before joining the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. Both courses are USATF certified, well marked, and finish at Pruitt Field on the Ohio University track. The full marathon is recognised as a Boston qualifier.

A certified course and a bikeway section make this a practical choice for a qualifying attempt, where knowing the mile markers are accurate matters as much as the profile. Give yourself sixteen weeks, keep the long run weekly, and run at least two of them at goal pace to learn what the standard actually feels like.
