Batavia United Way 5k/10 Run

Batavia United Way 5k/10 Run, known as the Bat Race, is held in Batavia on October 24, 2026, and welcomes runners and walkers of every level. The 10K goes off first at 8:15 a.m., the 5K follows at 8:30 a.m., and a quarter-mile kids fun run rounds out the morning at 9:30 a.m. Every participant gets a medal, and the top three men and women in each adult category are recognized.

With a Halloween theme, costumes are encouraged, and prizes go out in several categories, with contest sign-ups taken on site on race day. On the running side, the two distances suit different goals: the 5K is a sharp effort you can prepare for in a month, while the 10K rewards a longer build with a weekly long run and some steady tempo work.
