Beaver Fever 5K

Beaver Fever 5K is an evening race in the Beaverton and Gladwin area of Michigan on October 24, 2026, starting at 8:00 p.m. under moonlight on a trail course in the McCulloch Rd school forest. You cover two loops of the circuit, and the format works for runners and walkers alike. Chip timing is handled by professionals, and every finisher receives a medal.

Trail underfoot and darkness are what set this one apart from a standard 5K. Shoes with real grip are worth having, and so is a head torch or handheld light unless you know you can see the ground well. Because you run the loop twice, the first lap tells you exactly what is coming, so hold back a little early and use that knowledge to press on the second. Times on trail run slower than on the road, so judge the effort rather than the watch.
