Camp Spirit 5K

Camp Spirit 5K is run at Black Diamond Ranch, a private golf club in Lecanto, Florida, on October 24, 2026. The 5K starts at 8:00 a.m. and a one-mile walk follows at 8:05 a.m. Participants take in the scenic views and receive a custom medal, an event shirt and a commemorative bib, with refreshments waiting at the finish. Proceeds benefit the Eckerd Youth Alternative Camp E-Nini-Hassee.

Awards go to the top male and female finishers, to masters runners aged 40 and over, and to age-group winners from age seven upward, so there is something to race for at almost any age. Florida mornings in October are mild rather than cool, so start a shade more conservatively than you think you need. A month of consistent running with one weekly session at 5K effort prepares most people for the distance.
