CARNIVAL FROLIC 13.1 AND 5K

Carnival Frolic 13.1 and 5K is held in Decatur, Alabama, on February 6, 2027. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K follows at 7:15 a.m. The routes take in Decatur's running and cycling trails, its historic districts, the banks of the Tennessee River and Point Mallard park.

Race-day extras lean into the carnival theme: shirts, carnival throws and finisher medals, cash prizes and category awards on the individual events, and beignets, red beans and rice, plus a complimentary mimosa or cold beer for finishers. The half marathon is the centerpiece and rewards a 12-week build with a long run rising toward 11 or 12 miles. The 5K, going off 15 minutes later, is the better pick if you want to be at the food tent while it is still busy.
