Charlotte County Habitat's "Turkey Trot"

Charlotte County Habitat's "Turkey Trot" takes place in Punta Gorda, Florida, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The event is a 5K Run and Fun Walk (3.1 miles) starting at 7:30 a.m. in a scenic setting, open to participants of all ages. It is organized by Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity, and entries support its affordable housing work. An early 7:30 a.m. start gets you finished well ahead of the meal. Runners can use it as a fast, even-paced 5K to close out the fall; arrive with time for a ten-minute jog and a couple of strides. Walkers and families have the whole course at their own pace. If you are working toward your first 5K, six weeks of three run-walk sessions a week is plenty, and the medal is the same whether you run or walk.
