Christmas in the Park

Christmas in the Park is run on December 5, 2026, in Terre Haute, Indiana, in the setting of Deming Park. Two events are on the program: the 1 mile starts at 9:50 a.m., followed by the 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) at 10:00 a.m. The event supports the charity Clothe a Child, which receives half of the proceeds, and a shorter run for younger kids, the Reindeer Romp, is also offered.

Awards are given across several categories, overall, by age group, and for walkers, so everyone has something to race for regardless of pace. A 5K in early December often lands at the end of a break or the start of a new training block: rather than chasing a personal best, you can treat it as a tempo session inside a winter build, running at a controlled hard effort and finishing strong. If you are walking, the 5K is a comfortable distance for a festive outing with family. In cold weather, take a longer warm-up than usual before the 10:00 a.m. start.
