Circleville Turkey Trot

Circleville Turkey Trot is a community run/walk held in Circleville, Ohio, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The single event is a 5K (3.1 miles) that starts at 9:00 a.m. The trot exists to support local fundraising: participants help raise money for the Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry and the Community Cupboards of Pickaway County, two organizations working against food insecurity in the area.

With runners and walkers welcome on the same course, this is a low-pressure way to fit a workout into the holiday. Newer runners can treat it as a first race, using the four to six weeks beforehand to build up to running 30 minutes without stopping. More experienced runners often use a Thanksgiving 5K as a fitness check or a PR attempt at the end of the fall season, adding one session of short, fast repeats each week and jogging easy the day before. The 9:00 a.m. start leaves time for a proper breakfast and an easy warm-up jog.
