Color Me CASA! 5K

Color Me CASA! 5K is held in New Albany, Indiana, on October 31, 2026, with a 1-mile fun run at 9:00 a.m. and a timed 5K run/walk at 9:15 a.m. Alongside the racing there are art activities, music, food and games, plus dye stations along the way, student discounts and prizes for the best costumes. The event raises funds and awareness for CASA of Floyd County, a child advocacy organization working on behalf of children in foster care.

Because the 5K is timed, you can treat it as a genuine race rather than a parade, though the dye stations mean you should wear clothes you do not mind retiring. The 1-mile start 15 minutes earlier lets kids run their own event before the main field goes out. For the 5K itself, a month of easy running three days a week is plenty.
