Desert R.A.T.S. Trail Running Festival is a weekend of trail running on the trails near Fruita, Colorado, from April 9 to 11, 2027. The 10K (9 km, about 650 feet of climbing) opens the festival on April 9; the 100K (62 miles, roughly 6,700 feet of climbing) and the 50K (48 km, 30 miles, about 3,400 feet) run on April 10; and the half marathon (13.1 miles, some 2,300 feet of climbing) closes things out on April 11. The weekend starts with packet pickup and a pasta dinner on the Friday evening, and there is a runners' party at a local brewery as well as races for kids.

Spreading the distances over three days means you can pick one goal race or make a weekend of it with the family. For the 100K and 50K, train the climbing specifically: weekly hill work, long runs on trail, and practice eating at effort. The 10K and half are the entry points if you are new to desert singletrack.
