Dunwoody Dash 5K and Fun Run

Dunwoody Dash 5K and Fun Run returns to Dunwoody, Georgia on October 24, 2026. The 5K starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run follows at 8:10 a.m. Austin Elementary School hosts the event each year, and proceeds go to its students, teachers, staff and enrichment programs. After the finish there are food trucks, music and family entertainment including inflatables and face painting.

School-hosted races bring out neighbors more than they bring out racers, which makes this an easy day to introduce someone to the sport: the mile for younger kids, the 5K for everyone else. Ten minutes between the two starts means a parent can head out on the 5K and a child can line up for the mile without either of them missing a gun. If the 5K is your goal race, four weeks of running three times a week with one interval session will have you ready to run all 3.1 miles.
