Eastside Turkey Trot 5K

Eastside Turkey Trot 5K takes place at the Eastern Community YMCA in Oregon, Ohio, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The 1K Kids Run for ages 12 and under starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) at 9:00 a.m. You can run the in-person race through the city streets or choose the virtual option. Awards cover the top male and female finishers, age groups and special categories, and there is a costume contest. Pre-registered participants receive a long-sleeve T-shirt and a shoe discount coupon. Refreshments and an awards ceremony follow, and the race is chip-timed for accurate results.

A chip-timed 5K on city streets is a solid venue for a fast time if you have been running through the fall: keep your mileage steady, add one weekly interval session, and rest the two days before. If you are newer to running, four to six weeks of easy run-walk sessions is enough to finish comfortably, and the walk option removes any pressure. The kids' run half an hour earlier lets families do both.
