Florida Halloween Distance Classic

Florida Halloween Distance Classic is held at Fort De Soto Park near St. Petersburg, Florida, on October 31, 2026. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:05 a.m., with the 10K and 5K both going off at 7:15 a.m. Costumes are encouraged and a contest rewards the most creative, with the one condition that an outfit must not get in the way of running.

Early starts matter in Florida even in late October, so treat the 7 a.m. gun as part of the plan and get your body used to running not long after waking. The half is the serious distance of the three and rewards a twelve-week build with a weekly long run; the 10K and 5K work as tune-ups or as a first race. Whatever you enter, test your costume on a training run before you commit to it.
