Freakeee 5K Run/Walk

Freakeee 5K Run/Walk takes place in Ripley on October 24, 2026, starting and finishing at City Park near Ripley Elementary School at 5:30 p.m. Sponsored by Waybright Funeral Home, it belongs to the 4 Season Race Series organized by Main Street Ripley. Costumes are encouraged and the best one earns a gift certificate, the first 50 runners receive a free beanie, and the awards ceremony is held at the finish line, followed by a reception for participants.

Late-afternoon starts suit people who race badly in the morning, and they change your fueling: a normal breakfast, a light lunch three or four hours out, then nothing heavy. Because this one is part of a four-race series, it fits naturally into a year-round routine rather than standing alone on the calendar. For a single hard 5K, a few weeks of short intervals is preparation enough.
