About
Garmin Marathon Tucson is held in Tucson, Arizona, on November 8, 2026. The marathon (26.2 miles), the half marathon (13.1 miles) and the 10K all go off at 6:30 a.m., with the 5K following at 7 a.m. Four distances on one morning give the event range, from a first race to a full marathon.
How you prepare depends entirely on which one you pick. The marathon deserves a 16- to 20-week build with a weekly long run pushed out toward 20 miles and enough easy volume around it; the half is comfortable on 12 to 16 weeks. If you are new to racing, the 5K is the sensible entry point, and it starts half an hour later than everything else. The very early gun times are worth rehearsing: get one or two of your key training runs done at that hour so breakfast, warm-up and pacing are all familiar by race morning.
