Haunted Halloween 5K & 10K Run/Walk is held in Spring Lake, Michigan, on October 31, 2026, on a course inside Ottawa Sands, an Ottawa County park. The 5K run and walk of 3.1 miles starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 10K of 6.2 miles at 9:30 a.m., with a combined option covering both for a total of 9.3 miles, also beginning at 8:30. The event raises money for the Spring Lake Schools boys' volleyball program.

Doubling up is the format worth thinking about: you race 3.1 miles, recover for roughly an hour, then start again over twice the distance. Run the first leg controlled, keep moving and eat something small in the gap, and treat the 10K as the real effort. Costumes are encouraged with prizes for the best of them, and awards go to the overall male and female winners plus the leaders in each five-year age group.
