Lucha Run

Lucha Run is held on the campus of Fresno City College in Fresno, California, on December 6, 2026. Two formats start together at 9:00 AM: a 6K run (about 3.7 miles) on a fast, flat course, and a 2-mile walk. Participants are encouraged to race in their best luchador or luchadora costume. Every finisher receives a unique medal and a long-sleeve Dri-Fit shirt, and cash prizes go to the top individual and team performances. Additional kids races are on the program, so athletes of every age can take part.

The flat campus layout makes the 6K a good target for a fast time; treat it like a 5K with a little extra, and include a few short tempo or interval sessions in the weeks before race day. After the race, the celebration continues with tacos, hot chocolate and pan dulce, followed by a live Lucha Libre wrestling match. Plan to stay a while: it is as much a community fiesta as a race.
