The Seattle Marathon takes runners along the Pacific Northwest coast, blending city streets with waterfront scenery. Two distances are offered: the half marathon (13.1 miles) and the marathon (26.2 miles), on a course that passes several city landmarks before reaching the waterfront for views of the Seattle skyline.

The surrounding area has plenty to explore within an hour's drive: Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, Mount Rainier National Park, the Museum of Pop Culture, and the wineries of Woodinville Wine Country.
