Holiday 5K, 10K, & Half Marathon at JR Alford Greenway, Tallahassee, FL runs on December 5, 2026 at the JR Alford Greenway in Tallahassee, Florida. The half marathon (13.1 miles), the 10K and the 5K all start at 8 a.m. on an out-and-back course open to runners of every level. Everyone who finishes gets a medal, and there is a costume contest to go with it.

An out-and-back has one useful property: you see the whole course twice, so you can rehearse the second half while you are still running the first. Go out at the pace you can hold coming home, not the one that feels easy in the opening mile. For the half, ten to twelve weeks of steady running with a weekly long run is enough preparation. The 10K and the 5K work as tune-ups for anyone whose real target sits in the spring.
