Miamisburg Turkey Trot

Miamisburg Turkey Trot is held in Miamisburg, Ohio, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, and is organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club (ORRRC). Two formats start at 8:30 a.m.: a 5-mile run/walk and a 1-mile run/walk. The event is open to runners and walkers alike and is built around the idea of challenging yourself and staying active as a community during the holidays.

The 5-mile distance is a nice change from the usual Thanksgiving 5K. It rewards steady pacing more than raw speed, so a 10K-style preparation of six to eight weeks, with one longer run of 5 to 6 miles each week and a session of tempo running, will serve you well. If you are newer to running or bringing family along, the 1-mile option lets everyone take part in the same morning. Plan for a cold late-November start in southwest Ohio and dress in layers you can shed once you are moving.
