Monsters & Mimosas 5K - Golden Road

Monsters & Mimosas 5K is held at the Golden Road Vineyard & Winery in State Road, North Carolina, on October 24, 2026. Both events start at 10 a.m.: the 5K, and a 1.5-mile Sip & Stroll for anyone who would rather walk. Participants come in costume. The 5K is electronically timed and includes a race shirt, a finisher medal for everyone and age-group awards, and afterwards you can settle on the patio with a mimosa, with juice and water on hand for anyone under 21.

A late-morning start is unusually civil for a 5K, so there is no need to be up at dawn to eat and warm up properly. Race the 3.1 miles if you are chasing an age-group award, or take the Sip & Stroll at conversation pace if the company is the point of the day. If you plan to run in costume, test the outfit on a short run first: anything that flaps or slides gets old quickly over three miles.
