NYE Glow Run

NYE Glow Run is an after-dark New Year's Eve race in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on December 31, 2026. The 5K (3.1 miles) sets off at 5:00 p.m. on a loop at Heritage Oaks Golf Course, and a 1 Mile Kids Run goes first at 4:30 p.m. Glow accessories are provided, and runners are encouraged to bring a headlamp or a flashlight. The event welcomes wheelchair racers, strollers and leashed dogs.

Running in the dark changes the way a 5K feels: you see less of the ground, so your stride shortens and your pace naturally settles a little slower than on a bright morning. Bring the light you are used to, and if you plan to push the pace, warm up longer than usual, since a December evening leaves your legs stiff on the line.
