OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon & Quarter Marathon

OhioHealth Capital City Half Marathon & Quarter Marathon is held in Columbus, Ohio, on April 24, 2027. Three road races are on the schedule: The Capital City Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and the Quarter Marathon, a 10K, start together at 8:00 AM, followed at 8:30 AM by the Columbus Promise 5K. No elevation gain is published for these city courses.

The quarter marathon is a useful bridge for a runner who has finished a 5K and wants a longer target without committing to 13.1 miles. The half itself lends itself to a personal best attempt: a flat city route, a mass start and a distance short enough to hold a strong pace from start to finish. For either one, two quality sessions a week alongside a weekly long run will build the fitness, with the last few weeks spent practicing your intended race pace rather than adding mileage.
