Paws Colinas 5K-9

Paws Colinas 5K-9 is an annual event at the Las Colinas Urban Center in Irving, Texas, held on October 24, 2026 with both starts at 8 a.m. You can enter the human-only 5K or run the 5K alongside your dog; canine entries are classified by size, and vaccination and leash rules apply. It is organized by the Irving Marathon Running Series together with the Las Colinas Association, and post-race activities include food, drinks and entertainment.

Running 3.1 miles with a dog is its own discipline. Practise on a short leash in training, keep the dog on one consistent side, and remember that your pace will be dictated by the animal rather than by your legs, with most handlers running a couple of minutes per mile off their solo time. If you want to race properly, take the human-only option and bring the dog as a spectator. Either way, check the vaccination requirements well before entry day.
