Pioneer 5 Miles Run

Pioneer 5 Miles Run is staged at David Crockett Birthplace State Park in Limestone, Tennessee, on December 19, 2026, with the 5-mile event starting at 11:00 a.m. It counts toward both the King & Queen Series and the Tennessee Running Tour, and is organized by the State of Franklin Track Club. Everyone who finishes receives a medal, and the male and female winners collect a trophy at the finish line.

A late-morning start is unusually civilized for a December race — you can eat a proper breakfast, drive over and still have two hours to warm up. Five miles rewards runners who hold back early: settle into a rhythm you could sustain for eight, then commit over the last mile. Because it is a series race, plenty of the field will know each other's times, which tends to make the pacing honest from the gun.
