Planet Fitness Wichita OctoberFit 5K

Planet Fitness Wichita OctoberFit 5K takes place in Wichita, Kansas, on October 24, 2026, with the OctoberFit races starting at 9:10 a.m. and both a 5K and a 10K on the program. The route follows the Arkansas River bike path. There is a costume contest and a raffle with a home entertainment set as the prize, every runner receives a shirt, a medal and a goodie bag, and packet pickup is at Planet Fitness Normandie. Proceeds support the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Kansas and its youth programs.

A bike-path course is worth knowing about in advance: paved, largely uninterrupted and easy to pace, which makes it a reasonable place to chase a time at either distance. Take the 10K if you are running four or more times a week and want a real test, or the 5K if your training is lighter and you would rather race hard and be finished. Sort out packet pickup beforehand so race morning is nothing but running.
