Resolution Run - Fort Collins

Resolution Run - Fort Collins is a long-running Fort Collins tradition held on December 31, 2026, with a 5K (3.1 miles) starting at 6:00 p.m. The route runs through neighborhood streets and starts and finishes at the Edora Pool Ice Center, after sunset. Glow sticks are handed out and bright clothing is encouraged. Registration includes a long-sleeve shirt, a participant keepsake, glow sticks and hot chocolate. Runners of all ages are welcome, along with walkers, strollers and dogs.

Take the evening start seriously in Colorado: temperatures drop fast once the sun is down, so warm up indoors if you can and race in a layer you are happy to keep on. The course is flat neighborhood pavement rather than trail, which makes it a good place for a first 5K or a relaxed family outing. If you want to run it hard, a couple of interval sessions in the preceding weeks and a proper 15-minute warm-up will do the job.
