Runnin' To The Rig

Runnin' To The Rig takes place on the historic Bakersfield High School campus in Bakersfield, California, on February 20, 2027. The 5K run and walk and a 2K walk both start at 8:30 a.m., on routes that take in the campus landmarks. Every finisher receives a medal, and shirts go to those who sign up in advance.

This is a community fundraiser for the high school, and the morning is built around that: there is a chance to tour the campus, and afterwards you will find snacks, water and photo opportunities on Griffith Field. As a race, the 5K asks little in the way of preparation, so it works either as a first event or as a relaxed effort for regular runners. Anyone who would rather not run at all can take the 2K at walking pace.
