RUNorwalk

RUNorwalk is held in Norwalk, Iowa, on October 24, 2026. The 10K and the chip-timed 5K run/walk both start at 8 a.m. and a 1 mile walk follows at 8:15 a.m., all from the McAninch Sports Complex, with timing handled by True Time Racing Services. Part of the proceeds goes to the local Norwalk Easter public library, early registrants can pick up a RUNorwalk shirt, and a kids fun run for eight and under is held after the 5K.

The 10K is the competitive option here and it is long enough that pacing matters: run the first two miles at an effort you could hold for an hour, then spend whatever is left over the last two. The 5K responds better to a shorter, sharper build. Either way, six to eight weeks with one quality session a week should have you ready.
