Silver Strand Half Marathon, 10 Miler, 12K & 5K

Silver Strand Half Marathon, 10 Miler, 12K & 5K takes place in Coronado, California, on November 8, 2026, with all four distances starting at 7 a.m.: a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10-mile run, a 12K and a 5K run/walk. The route follows a closed Silver Strand Highway from Coronado toward Imperial Beach, with the Pacific on one side and San Diego Bay on the other, and finishes at Silver Strand State Beach.

Closed roads and a point-to-point layout make this a fast, uncomplicated race on foot, which is why the 10-miler and the 12K are useful stepping stones between a 10K and a half. Whichever you enter, a 12-week build with one long run a week covers it. Live music, a drumline and a DJ keep the course noisy, and a beach party with a band and a beer garden follows. Proceeds go to the Life Sports Foundation, Team Hoyt and the Islander Sports Foundation, with discounted entry for military and first responders on presentation of valid ID.
