The Big Game Run

The Big Game Run is a football-themed event held outside the Panthers' stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 14, 2027. The 4 Miler (6.4 km) starts at 9:00 AM and a 100-yard kids' dash follows at 10:15. Runners are invited to turn out in football team gear, with a contest for the best outfits. Every runner receives a performance shirt and a medal, kids in the dash get mini footballs and shirts, and the event adds age-group awards, sponsor giveaways and a finish-line expo. Walkers are welcome within a set time limit, a virtual option is available, medical support is on hand and parking is plentiful.

Four miles suits a costume race well: long enough to feel like a real effort, short enough that a football jersey will not ruin your morning. If you want a time rather than a photo, run the first mile under control and lift the pace from there.
