The Devils Race Track Backyard Ultra takes place in the Wade Mountain Preserve, managed by the Land Trust of North Alabama, near Huntsville, Alabama. Whether you're chasing a spot at the Big Dog's Backyard Ultra world championship or looking for a new kind of challenge, this backyard ultra format offers a classic, comparable test of your limits. Runners start a new loop every hour on the hour, following a course designed by the legendary Lazarus Lake. Early loops combine a road segment with singletrack trail; once night falls, the course shifts entirely to a road loop. Finish each loop within the hour to stay in the race.
