The Freaky 5K

The Freaky 5K is run in Midway, Utah, on the evening of October 24, 2026, with the start at 7 p.m. The 5K (3.1 miles) is built around a zombie apocalypse theme: the course is scattered with obstacles and zombies, and fog, lighting and sound effects carry the atmosphere. Reach the finish without being caught and you collect a survivor medal.

This is an experience race rather than a time trial, so leave the personal-best ambitions at home and treat the stop-start rhythm as part of the deal. An evening start also changes your day, so eat your main meal several hours ahead and keep the afternoon light. A portion of every ticket goes to Primary Children's Hospital. Anyone who can run or walk three miles can take part, and obstacles reward a bit of general strength work more than pure speed.
