Tinsel Triathlon

Tinsel Triathlon is held in Hemet, California, on December 13, 2026, with everything starting at 7:00 a.m. The main event is a short triathlon built from a 150-meter swim, a 12-mile bike leg, and a 5K run, and there is also a standalone 5K for runners who want to skip the swim and the bike. The swim is held in the heated pool at West Valley High School, and the run leg goes through West Hemet.

The course is flat and fast, well marked, and supported by volunteers, which makes it a reasonable first triathlon as well as a quick test for experienced athletes. Finishers receive medals, and an awards ceremony recognizes the top performances. If this is your first multisport race, a few weeks of pool sessions on top of your usual running is enough preparation for legs this short.
