Turkey Day 8K & 3K Family Fun Run

Turkey Day 8K & 3K Family Fun Run is a Thanksgiving Day event in Missoula, Montana, on November 26, 2026, organized by Run Wild Missoula. Both the 8K (about 5 miles) and the 3K (about 1.9 miles) start at 9:30 a.m. The course runs through the University district and along the Clark Fork River. The event is open to athletes of all levels and is friendly to families and walkers; strollers are allowed if they start at the back of the field. Dogs are not permitted, except for ADA service animals on a non-retractable leash. Proceeds benefit the Missoula Food Bank, and entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be deferred.

The 8K is a nice option for runners who want more than a 5K on Thanksgiving morning, and the 3K gives families and walkers a shorter route on the same riverside course. For the 8K, plan on four to six weeks of steady running with a weekly long run of five to six miles, and expect a cold late-November morning in Montana.
