About
Turkey Trot Eugene takes place at Alton Baker Park in Eugene, Oregon, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. You can choose between the 5K course and a newer 10K course, both starting at 9:00 a.m. The event benefits Food for Lane County, which supports local families in need over the holiday season. The course has minimal elevation gain, which makes it a good fit for runners and walkers of all levels. Dogs are not allowed because of the course layout and for safety reasons, but strollers are welcome.
With a flat park setting and two distances, this is an accessible event whether you are walking with a stroller, running your first 10K or chasing a fast 5K time. The 10K is a nice step up for runners who have done a few 5Ks and want a longer holiday effort. For the 10K, plan on six to eight weeks of consistent running with a weekly long run of six to seven miles; for the 5K, a few weeks of regular easy running is plenty.
