Turtle Crawl Runs - 5K / 10K is held on Jekyll Island, Georgia, on May 1, 2027. Three starts follow one another: the 10K (6.2 miles) at 7:00 AM, the 5K (3.1 miles) at 7:20 AM and a 1K fun run at 9:45 AM. Virtual entries are also offered. The event supports the Georgia Sea Turtle Center and its rehabilitation, research and education work for sea turtles and coastal animals. Every participant receives a race shirt, with medals for the top finishers in each age group.

Coastal Georgia in May means warm, humid mornings, which is part of why the longer distances start first. Age-group awards give the 10K a competitive edge if you want one, while the 1K late in the morning leaves plenty of time for families to arrive at a civilized hour.
