Tuscarawas County YMCA Turkey Trot

Tuscarawas County YMCA Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving-morning event in Dover, Ohio, taking place on November 26, 2026. The single format is a 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) that starts at 9:00 a.m. It is open to all ages and abilities, including runners, walkers, and families pushing strollers or bringing along a dog. Awards go to the top male and female finishers, to the winners of each age group, and to participants who show exceptional spirit or costumes. When you register you can choose a t-shirt size or opt out of the shirt entirely.

Beyond the race itself, your entry supports the YMCA's community programs, funding access to memberships, youth sports, swim lessons, and more. For runners, a 5K run/walk with a costume category is best approached as a fun, moderate effort rather than a time trial; if you do want to race it, warm up well before the 9:00 a.m. start and line up near the front so you are not weaving through walkers and strollers in the opening half mile. A few weeks of regular easy running is all the preparation most people need.
