About

Tyler Run For Autism is organized by a nonprofit of the same name, founded by parents of autistic children, and the 2027 edition is held in Tyler, Texas, on April 3. Three formats start within ten minutes of each other: the 10K Run (6.2 miles) at 8:30 a.m., the 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) at 8:35 a.m., and a 1-mile run and walk at 8:40 a.m. Entrants receive an event t-shirt and a finisher medal and have access to a post-race trade show, with awards given for overall and age-group placings.

Money raised funds medical services and community integration programs for autistic children in East Texas. On the running side, the tight start window is convenient for groups: everyone begins and finishes in roughly the same window regardless of distance. The 10K is the one to enter if you want a real test, and six to eight weeks of steady mileage with one weekly tempo run will have you racing it rather than merely completing it.
