Webster Turkey Trot

Webster Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving tradition in Webster, New York, first run in 1972 and returning on November 26, 2026. Two distances share the morning: the Four-Four, roughly 4.2 miles, at 10:00 a.m., and the shorter Two-Five, about 2.5 miles, ten minutes later at 10:10. Finisher medals go to everyone, refreshments wait at the end, and runners who sign up in advance receive custom race items.

The later-than-usual start is worth noting if you are cooking: you will be racing mid-morning rather than at dawn. Pick the Four-Four if you want a real effort, since a little over four miles is long enough to reward pacing and short enough not to wreck the rest of your day; the Two-Five suits families, walkers, and anyone easing back into racing. Neither requires a training block. Consistent easy running through November, plus one weekly session at a comfortably hard pace, covers both.
