Western Mass 10 & NoHo 5K

Western Mass 10 & NoHo 5K starts in Amherst, Massachusetts, on November 1, 2026, and runs point to point into Northampton in the heart of fall. The 10-mile race leaves UMass Amherst at 8:30 a.m., passes through downtown and follows the Norwottuck Trail, then crosses the Connecticut River on the Northampton Lattice Truss Bridge before finishing at Union Station. You can enter it solo or as a two-person relay. The flat NoHo 5K goes off at 8:15 a.m.

Ten miles is an honest distance: long enough to reward real endurance, short enough to race hard without a marathon block behind you. Run it at goal half marathon effort as a rehearsal, or take it on its own terms off ten weeks of training with a weekly long run of 10 to 12 miles. The relay lowers the entry bar if you would rather split the work with a friend, and the 5K gives newer runners a quick morning, with a medal or custom shirt and the post-race party with food and drink waiting at the finish.
