Hoya and the Hare 5K

Hoya and the Hare 5K runs in Kennesaw, Georgia, on October 31, 2026. Two formats leave at 9:00 a.m.: a 5K covering 3.1 miles and a one-mile fun run. Because they start at the same moment rather than in sequence, everyone in a group is on course together and finishing within roughly the same window.

The simultaneous start is worth planning around. If your kids are doing the mile, arrange for them to be met at the finish, since you will still be running when they are done. For the 5K, keep the first quarter mile deliberately controlled while the mile field is still around you, then find your own rhythm once the two races separate. A single mile is also an excellent first race format, short enough to feel manageable and long enough to count.
