7 Sisters Trail Race

7 Sisters Trail Race is run in Amherst, Massachusetts, on May 2, 2027, starting at 9:00 AM. The single format covers 19.3 km, about 12 miles, with 1,067 meters of climbing, roughly 3,500 feet. The course follows technical singletrack across the Holyoke Range and is regarded as one of the hardest trail races in the Northeast, with wide views along the ridge. Charity bibs are available, letting runners raise money for a nonprofit of their choice.

Do not read 12 miles as a short day here. With that much climbing on technical ground, finishing times stretch far beyond what the distance suggests, and power hiking the steep sections is a tactic rather than a failure. Train on rocky, rooted trails, practice descending carefully, and go in with a time expectation based on effort rather than your road pace.
