A Spooktacular 5K Run/Walk

A Spooktacular 5K Run/Walk is run in Somers on October 24, 2026, starting at 6:30 p.m. The single distance is a 5K, 3.1 miles, open to runners and walkers of every age. Registered participants receive a short-sleeve t-shirt, costumes are encouraged with a contest to go with them, and free family activities include pumpkin decorating, a candy hunt for children and a bounce house.

Because the start is in the evening, plan your day around it rather than the other way round: a light meal a few hours out, no heavy lunch, and a longer warm-up than you would need on a morning race. The 5K is short enough that even a costume will not ruin your time, and with activities running alongside it, this is the sort of event where the running is only part of what you turn up for.
