Cocoa Cup 5K

Cocoa Cup 5K takes place in Summerville, South Carolina, on December 19, 2026. The 5K starts at 9:30 a.m. and a one-mile kids run goes off first at 9:00 a.m., with separate registration required for the children's race. Entrants in the main race receive a commemorative hoodie and a hot chocolate mug, and hot chocolate is waiting at the finish. A holiday costume contest and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus round out the morning, and proceeds go to East Cooper Community Outreach and the Lowcountry Food Bank.

Short enough to race off a modest base, the 5K needs little: three or four runs a week for a month will get you around comfortably, and one weekly session of faster repetitions will get you around quickly. With the kids run finishing before the 5K starts, parents can watch and then race.
