Foundations 4 Hope 5K - AL

Foundations 4 Hope 5K - AL is run in Trussville, Alabama, on October 31, 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the town's entertainment district. Alongside the timed 5K run or walk there is a Jerry Can 5K relay for teams of three, in which participants carry water-filled jerry cans over the distance, with separate categories for men's and women's teams. The event welcomes all ages and supports the local church in East Africa, funding Christian leadership, church building, clean water and medicine.

The relay is the interesting choice here: carrying a loaded can changes your gait and taxes your grip and shoulders far more than your legs, so practice at least once with weight before race day. For the standard 5K, ordinary preparation applies, with three or four runs a week and one faster session to sharpen up.
