Lost in the Woods 5k

Lost in the Woods 5k takes place in Newport News, Virginia, on December 19, 2026. The 5K starts at 5:00 p.m. over a two-loop course through the campus and the wooded area behind Peninsula Catholic High School, lit with Christmas lights, and a 500-meter kids fun run follows at 6:00 p.m. Registration proceeds go to charity: participating teams compete to choose a cause that receives half the money, with the other half going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Two loops through woodland in fading light is a different exercise from a road 5K — footing is uneven, sightlines are short, and your pace will read slower than usual.
