Love Like Alissa 5k

Love Like Alissa 5k is a single-distance road race in Newberry, South Carolina, on December 5, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM. It supports the Love Like Alissa foundation, which funds scholarships for Mid-Carolina seniors going on to higher education, and honors Alissa's legacy.

A 5K is short enough that almost anyone with a few weeks of steady running can finish it, and specific enough that trained runners can genuinely race it. If you fall in the first group, three runs a week for a month, one of them stretching to 30 minutes, is the whole plan. If you fall in the second, treat the first mile as the discipline test: hold back roughly ten seconds per mile from goal pace, then spend what you saved over the last kilometer.
