LSSC Monster Dash

LSSC Monster Dash is held in Leesburg, Florida, on October 31, 2026, hosted by Lake-Sumter State College. The 10K over 6.2 miles and the 5K over 3.1 miles both start at 8:00 a.m., on a family-friendly course with views out over Silver Lake. Every entrant receives a shirt and a medal, and age-group leaders are recognized on time and placing.

With both distances leaving together, decide in advance rather than at the start line. The 5K is the better pick if you have been running twice a week; the 10K makes sense once your regular runs reach four or five miles, and it benefits from one longer run each week in the month beforehand. Costumes add to the atmosphere, and proceeds go to the LSSC Foundation, which funds scholarships and educational resources at the college.
